Canon is now also considering to manufacture a retro style digital camera. Following the success of several Fuji X cameras and the Nikon Zf range, Canon has initiated an poll on Chinese social media platform Weibo asking their customers whether they would be interested in a digital camera that has form factor based on an old-style Canon film camera.

Participants in the poll could also indicate which classic Canon camera would serve as the basis for this future digital camera.

Rangefinder style

Apparently, the Canonet QL17 is leading the poll. The QL17 is a rangefinder style camera, which also served as the basis for popular models like the Fuji X100 and X-Pro line.
